Description
Dolce & Gabbana’s Light Blue Perfume is a popular fragrance that captures the essence of a sunny Mediterranean summer. It’s known for its fresh, floral, and fruity notes, making it a vibrant and refreshing choice with an impish note of green apple emanates from the latest creation of the most impertinent of Italian designers.
Light Blue is not a lighter version despite its name: It sparkles with flowers and fruit notes that are an enticement to joie de vivre. The fragrance opens on a fresh and gourmet note of Sicily cedar, Granny Smith apples and bluebells.
Light Blue was created by master perfumer Olivier Cresp after Italian designer duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana asked him to create a fragrance that would evoke the feeling of being in Sicily. It was a long process that took two years to perfect, but the end result is the iconic summer scent that has been adored by fragrance lovers since its launch in 2001. A spritz of Light Blue can last up to four or five hours, and because it is a lighter perfume, it does not contain an overpowering aroma. While this may mean that the sillage is not as strong as other fragrances, the longer you wear it, the more it changes from the fresh and youthful citrus and apple scent that you notice immediately, to a softer, amber and cedar scent.
Since its launch, Light Blue has won several fragrance awards, including a FiFi award and a 5-star rating from news outlets such as The New York Times, solidifying its place in the fragrance world. It was even one of twelve fragrances curated for an exhibition at the Museum of Arts and Design entitled “The Art of Scent 1889-2012”, proving that Light Blue is a masterpiece of youthful summer scents that any woman would be proud to wear.
